Abstract

Depression is a common mental disorder that has a wide range of clinical severity. Suicide, homicide and infanticide are rare events with complex multi-factorial causes. However, when they do occur, they have a devastating impact on patients, relatives, and the wider community; understanding the role that depression plays is critical from a clinical perspective.
